Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about trading on Pelt.
How does Pelt work?+
Pelt is a peer-to-peer marketplace for S&box skins. Sellers list items from their Steam inventory, buyers purchase them with deposited funds, and the trade is completed via Steam's trading system. We verify every trade using Steam's API before releasing funds to the seller.
What fees does Pelt charge?+
Pelt charges a 2% fee on completed sales, deducted from the seller's proceeds. There is also a 2% withdrawal fee when you withdraw funds. There are no fees for buyers. Deposits have no platform fees (standard payment processing fees may apply).
How do I deposit funds?+
Go to the Deposit page and enter an amount. In production, you'll be redirected to Stripe's secure checkout to complete the payment. Funds are credited to your Pelt balance once payment is confirmed.
How do I withdraw funds?+
Withdrawals require identity verification (KYC) and are limited to funds earned from completed sales. Go to the Withdraw page, complete KYC if you haven't already, then enter the amount you'd like to withdraw. Withdrawals are processed within 1-3 business days.
Why can't I withdraw my deposited funds?+
For fraud prevention, only funds earned from completed sales can be withdrawn. Deposited funds can be used to purchase items on the marketplace but cannot be directly withdrawn.
What is KYC and why is it required?+
KYC (Know Your Customer) is identity verification required before you can withdraw funds. It involves uploading a government-issued ID and a selfie. This protects against fraud and is processed securely by Stripe Identity.
How long does a trade take?+
After a buyer purchases an item, the seller has 30 minutes to accept, then 2 hours to send the Steam trade offer. Once the buyer accepts the trade on Steam, our system verifies the transfer via the Steam API and releases funds to the seller.
What happens if a trade fails?+
If the seller doesn't respond within 30 minutes, doesn't send the trade within 2 hours, or the trade is declined, the transaction is automatically cancelled and the buyer receives a full refund.
How do I set up my Trade URL?+
Go to your Dashboard > Settings tab. You can find your Trade URL at steamcommunity.com/my/tradeoffers/privacy. Paste it in the Trade URL field and click Save. This is required to receive trade offers.
How do I set up my Steam API Key?+
Go to your Dashboard > Settings tab. Get your API key from steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey. This allows Pelt to verify your trades automatically.
What games are supported?+
Pelt currently supports S&box skins. We plan to expand to other Facepunch games like Rust in the future.
How do buy orders work?+
Buy orders let you set a maximum price you're willing to pay for a specific item. When a seller lists that item at or below your price, the order is automatically matched and the trade begins. Funds are held when you place the buy order.
